Descending from a Snohomish County railroading family, Timothy M. Farrell was elected to the Pierce County Council
in 2005. He represents most of north and central Tacoma including the downtown corridor and the Hilltop areas, a
portion of south Tacoma, and Ruston.
Prior to being elected to the County Council, Farrell was chief of staff to state Sen. Jim Kastama (D-Puyallup) in
Olympia. He holds a master's degree in business administration from California Polytechnic University in San-Luis
Obispo, Calif. His council priorities include maintaining our social-services network, farmland preservation and
economic development.
Farrell has been active with Eastside Women for Women's Health, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Bryant Neighbors,
St. Leo's Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Elks BPOE 174. He is a former chair of the Tacoma Planning
Commission and a former member of the North End Neighborhood Council.
