Mr. Giese was appointed to the Forest Practices Appeals Board in March 2003. Mr. Giese is a Senior Vice President with Rockey Hill and Knowlton, the largest public relations and public affairs consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest. He works out of Rockey’s Seattle office and has been a consultant since 1988. The firm provides services to many of our region’s best-known and international companies and trade associations. Mr. Giese also works on a wide diversity of clients with public relations and public affairs needs, including but not limited to: manufacturing, real estate, natural resources, health care, taxation and regulatory issues. He was a member of the Washington State Redistricting Commission during 2001-2. This Commission redrew the boundaries for Washington State’s 49 legislative and 9 congressional districts. Mr. Giese served as Chief of Staff in Washington, DC, to former Washington State Congressman Rod Chandler (WA-8) from 1983 through 1987. During 1981-2, he was Special Assistant to Governor John Spellman. Mr. Giese has also worked for the King County Planning Division, the Washington State Office of Community Development, and the City of Renton and as a consultant to the Washington State Department of Ecology. He has Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Washington in History and Political Science.
