Endangered Species Program Coordinator, Clark County. He coordinates the county's activities to ensure that wild fish return to the streams of the region. Commissioner in Cowlitz County, Washington, 1995-2000. One of three commissioners comprising the legislative authority of the county. Responsible for oversight of $120 million budget. Direct administrative responsibility over approximately 400 employees. Lower Columbia Fish Recovery Board which created a five county salmon and steelhead habitat restoration plan. Supervised development and implementation of Critical Areas Ordinance. Conducted land use and Shoreline Master Program hearings.

Lead negotiator of Washington Association of Counties at Forest and Fish negotiations, 1997-1999. Negotiated the forestry module of the Washington State response to Clean Water Act 303(d) list and Endangered Species Act listings of wild salmonids.

Washington State Forest Practices Board member, 1998-2000. Developed and adopted emergency rules to address ESA listings. Participated in permanent rule adoption process.

Owner-manager of Commerce Café, 1982-1995. Built and operated full service, half-million dollar annual gross restaurant. Direct responsibility for all phases of management, including financial, personnel, purchasing and operations.

Internal Auditor, CMSTP&P Railroad, 1968-1974. Performed financial and operational audits of transcontinental railroad.
